Ok guys, I have a serious question to ask you all.

Do you think I should begin a blog for my games and books?

Having never messed with one before, I have no idea how to even begin going about doing that?

Gav, yeah, I have noticed that. And why I began to think about beginning one.

@MrAnderson, yep, I figure it would be a good way to let folks know about the books and games. :ugeek:

Ok guys, I waited until 1 PM today, and so far only Gav, Mav and Tssha have submitted their turns. So time is up.

I am going to process the turn and any turns not submitted will be processed without new orders.

Here is another hint for you all. If you only use 1 team for an R&D roll you have a 25% chance of getting a max die roll benefit. But, conversely, you also have a 25% chance to get a min die roll disadvantage.

So keep this in mind when you allocate your teams to R&D. :)

So, I was thinking about the manual, and I thought, maybe we should be keeping track of some of the advice that Thor here is providing the players in this game. Maybe keep a note of it and make a Tips & Advice section at the end of the manual. It can include such helpful tips as the one in the post above, or that you need a Communications Package if your satellite is going to do anything more than beep, or tips on how to format your orders in the spreadsheet. Just little bits of advice, which you can get from reading over this thread, but all bundled in the manual. One day, when this game is out in the open and Thor isn't available to answer everyone's questions, it might be good to put those in the manual itself so as to ease the learning curve a bit.

Just something to keep in mind in the future. As you advise us, update the manual. After all, if we don't get it, odds are somebody else won't too. Your advice for MrAnderson helped me as well, after all!

Sorry for the lateness in processing the turns folks. RL bit me in the backside once again. I should have everybody's turn processed by tonight.

@Gav, can you do me a favor? Can you post your review of a Test of Wills on its kindle fora? If not, np. :)

Tssha, that is a good idea. So, as a playtester, go ahead and pick out the hints and suggestions, then organize them as a FAQ, and I will post them here and in the rules. :)

Good Job in volunteering! ;D

BTW, if you wonder why you 'volunteered', ask Haegan about making outstanding suggestions such as FAQ's. ;)

Before things went to heck in a handbasket on the 2nd I had finished and sent out a few of the turns. Then the HDD crashed and now I do not remember who's turn was processed. I thought I had backed up the TtS! folder before the crash, but it seems I had only backed it up that morning. :P

So I need every player to let me know what was the last turn they had received. That way I can finish processing the turns and catch everyone up to speed.

Yeah, if June was the last turn you had sent me with orders, please send them again. HDD crashes are terribly inconvenient! >:(

I tried not to worry you all, only my backup was good enough to not lose anything but the orders I had processed earlier. I thought I had backed them up as I had processed them. But no go.

Hence my earlier post here.

I'm too lazy to correct it at this point, and it's kinda against the spirit of the game...well, my interpretation of the spirit of the game, at least.

I can probably fish up the result of the June turn as well, if you need it. Else, I guess you'll have to re-roll everything, right? Let me know if you want that, I'll get it done right away.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you until now, 'twas a busy day and I'm running behind.

Tssha, if I processed your June turn, by all means keep it. I did not remember who I had processed before the crash, but if you have July done, just wait a bit for me to process the others. :)

All June turns processed and July sheets sent out.

Again, I apologize for the delays guys. I appreciate your patience. :)

Mav, if you had not had your work problems interfering with your gaming, you would have beat me in the mission NASA is announcing for June. ;)

Guys, I know Mav had mentioned in the playtester's year end report thread about not knowing how to get some fluff for his nation. Well, historically, beyond the US and USSR there is none in this time period. So why don't you create some? ;)

In my posts you can see some templates for rockets and such. So why not create your own mission names and stats for your nation? That way we will have a good jump on the beginning of the space race in the Gunnyverse! :geek:

It can also help to develop a goal for yourself each year. Like my intent to put a living person into orbit at the start of the next year. With a reason chance of him not being well roasted of course!

Speaking of which, Ken, next year we recruit astronauts?

Yep. Jan of 58. Then while they are in training you can begin to build their support facilities. :)
