One observation -
You’ll need an acronyms page
One question -
Are we limited by the list of dark gods ? Or can we choose others ?

You can choose others. But try to give some data so it can be added to the list!Ragnar wrote: Sun Nov 16, 2025 9:08 am One observation -

And yeah. Draw up a list of what you think should be on the list and I will add to the docs.

Would you consider Fenrir to be classed as a dark god ?

Re: General Discussions
Not really. Maybe as a Demi-God since he was the child of Loki.
However, I will allow it, but you will have to be one of the Úlfhéðnar.
And as a test you will need to provide a definition of what you will have to become in the game. Made in your OWN words. not a copy-paste from the net.

Re: General Discussions
Are you sure you want to bring in the Norse Gods like Thor, Odin and Tyr? Because you know Ken will create orders to oppose Fenrir.
Because as another cultist, I don't want to deal with the order of Thor

Wrong God...Ragnar wrote: Tue Nov 18, 2025 7:23 am Thor ? Isn’t he just another meal for fenrir ? Maybe a spicy meal
Just remember, Thor killed Fenrir's big brother, Jormangand.
Still waiting on your definition of what an Úlfhéðnar is. No Fenrir until you answer the riddle posed by the GM!

Re: General Discussions
Weren’t they like Thors berserkers that specialised in hunting down wolves?

Lol, close enough!Ragnar wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 8:09 am Weren’t they like Thors berserkers that specialised in hunting down wolves?
In Norse mythology there were two types of berserkers, the Guðs berserkr, whose totem was the bear. Guðs berserkr literally means Coat of the Bear. Then there were the Úlfhéðnar, who's totem was the wolf.
The difference was that the Guðs berserkr were strength and rage personified. While the Úlfhéðnar were more cunning and directed rage.
So, if you want to have Fenrir you will become Úlfhéðnar!
If this is ok go ahead and do up your start up sheet and post it in the Start up Sheet thread.
Cheers, Thor

It is located in the Of Steamworks & Mechanology Obscura: Mechanology document. There are 6 Disciplines you can choose from.
They are as follows: Organics, Explosives, Electrics, Metallics, Psykological, & Æthernautics.
However, I would suggest reading ALL three Of Steamworks & Mechanology Obscura documents since the disciplines work together in various ways before deciding.
Webknight went with the ones he did to support his leader ability of necromancy.

Yeah, you're going to want to really consider the interactions available between the DisciplinesThorgrimm-28 wrote: Wed Nov 26, 2025 3:48 amIt is located in the Of Steamworks & Mechanology Obscura: Mechanology document. There are 6 Disciplines you can choose from.

The Dangers of copy paste
I had copied an order from a previous playtest and it royally screwed me up.
After an initial discussion for this playtest with the GM I have a leader with two personalities/forms (literally, Jekyll and Hyde).
I forgot to change the name from Hyde to my new leader's name.
The GM ruled that I had used a transformation (and rightly so).
So, all the actions I wanted to be done by Jekyll were null and void.
The only thing that saved me was the roll for the consequences, it was an astounding success, thus Hyde did NOT go on a murderous rampage.

Re: General Discussions
I did warn the both of them!
A wise GM never goes looking for a rope to hang the players with. However, a wise GM WILL use the rope that the players present to them!
A description of what could have happened follows:
Since Webknight had Hyde appear he used one of his transformation formulas. As Webknight was informed on what would happen when Hyde appeared.
When Hyde appears he has to roll a die against his Administration and if he failed Hyde would go do his own 'thing'. Moreover that meant that civvies would die. The number that died would have been determined by the admin die roll.
However, it was not that easy though. If he would have rolled a critical failure the number of civvies who would have died would have been doubled.
Now, this level of murder would have brought in the State police. However, if that would have happened state troopers would have died.
Then the National Guard would have been called in. BUT! This is when it could have gotten interesting!
With all of this death and chaos I would have made a die roll to see if Webknight's patron would have noticed the carnage. If he had, then Webknight would have begun to sweat since when his patron notices things like that the GM needs to see if he is 'peckish' or not. If so, he tends to make a snack item out of the local cult leader...
So, by his rolling a critical success Hyde just decided to chill in the moonlight and read Little Women by Jane Austen. And to Hyde this was one of the most terrifying book he could read! A true horror novel!
